From a pencil drawing, to the finished product or my recent drawing;



I do the first sketch with a colored pencil. Then draw over it with a .5 led pencil. Then I scan it, mess with the brightness/contrast. Then make the sketch black and white by taking away the saturation.  Then I set the layer with the drawing on it to "multiply". I then made a new layer under that layer, and began to color. When you set a layer to multiply, it becomes partially transparent, without looking like a watermark. There are a lot of tutorials on using this method, please do search them up.
Anyways, I then finish the picture like I would any other digital drawing. Layers beyond layers for the lighting, shading, background, effects, etc...
Again, look up tutorials for how to color/edit scanned images in whatever programs you have or want to use. You may find something that works out for you.
I am not all knowing, so don't ask me how to do ____ in ____ program. Again, the internet is a vast place of tutorials and tips for almost anything!
