**listened to this whilst drawing the picture... I think it fits, it's eerie, tragic, and just a good soundtrack [link] **
The young Unicorn was tired, scared...... He had ventured off into unfamiliar lands. There were no plants, aside from dead trees. There were no singing birds, no fluffy rabbits playing and hopping. No clear beautiful ponds or lakes. The sky bled red, and smoke filled the air. The creatures here were terrifying and strange to him, and hostile. One in particular....... was hunting him down. He ran, and ran, and he tried to hide, but his glistening white coat and golden horn stuck out against the surroundings, leaving hardly any place to hide.
"Unicorn! Where are you? I can sense your putrid innocence.... . there's no point in hiding anymore...."
He cowered behind a rock as the winged beast flew towards the ground, ready to land.
He began to cry...
What was this creature? It looked like a Pegasus , but was nowhere near as majestic or kind............ and it had fangs, it was carnivorous. Like a cursed wolf.
He has only heard about these things in the stories his mother told him when she urged him to be careful when going out with his friends in the woods.. That they hate Unicorns, with such a passion that they will slaughter them on sight. And rumored........even eat them.
Mother.............. oh mother.
How his stomach sank at the thought of his mother. He shouldnt have wondered soo far from home. His mother is probably worried sick. And he wanted her soo badly, he started to tremble in fear as he heard the sounds of the wings getting closer to the ground. The beast snorted, he looked over from behind the rock and saw the monster land.
Eyes glowing bright through the smoke..........
He started to get the feeling that he'd never see his home, or his mother ever again....
Then the monster caught eye of him........ and let out a terrible call----
Hmm I do enjoy drawing such things, soo relaxing. And I have yet to come up with a name for these winged carnivorous horses I have taken a liking to drawing. (no suggestions plz, I'll think of a name )
Oh and the evil horse silhouette in the BG was actually taken from the background of this image I had drawn: I just liked it's pose soo much I felt it needed to be more visible in another image.
Maybe u coul do like before the Carniverious horse killed the poor thing a Angel Unicorn stops it. just an idea. and very good work on the surroundings soooo scary.
Some book series I read years ago called those creatures "hurroks"; I think it was meant as a slurred horse-hawk combination. Fleshy wings, talons, sharp teeth. I used to have a stupid fascination with them x)

I'd love to see an image of those things ^^
