Was on the phone with my friend and was just doodling. (this is what I come up with when just "letting go" for creature designs I guess?)
Cool enough to me to upload.
BTW Totally not related to a dog or cat or anything at all.... they just call it a Sand Dog because it can be domesticated. And it likes to dig..... It's just a big mammalian like thing. Prolly makes a short "bark" -ish type noise.
And it's not hairless, it has very VERY short hair :\.
I picture this thing living in the desert (Utah maybe?), about 4 feet or so at the shoulders for the small ones (females) maybe 4 1/2 feet for the males. Good eyesight in the day, excellent at night. Domesticated, but not. EH Great guard dogs, scary wild animals. dunno.....
Omnivore.

BTW I was TOTALLY listening to my friend on the phone whilst coming up with this... I SWEAR!

and that texture is actually from a photo I took of a stone floor/wall/???

Maaan, I can't help but think of a kind of Theracephalian or a Gorgonopsid when I look at this animal. Some sort of Therapsid.

Love your animal concepts. How about sense of smell or temperament? from what I see of these so far, I would definitely take one of these out hunting. =)
