I met Nick online, he lived in West Virginia. after years i finally got the guts to ask him to live with me. He's here with me in Alaska now and this is be far the best relationship i've ever been in. i don't think it works for everyone, but it worked for me.

i've never been happier!

The point is that it's just a gateway to meeting people, in order to have physical contact. It's like getting into a HUGE new group of people - you meet people and then take it further if you both get along. You're not meant to maintain a relationship only via the internet!

To be honest, I'm actually trying it. Most of the girls around here are either taken or dumb as a bucket of strump, and it's annoying. The site I'm using is free. If it doesn't work, I haven't lost anything, right?

I'm actually taking a girl (who I met on there) out to dinner on Tuesday, so it's not a *complete* waste of time... ;)

Meeting people on the internet initially is all good in my book. It's a vast network where you can easily find and talk to people, which can be hella difficult for some people. But I don't think it can be sustained via the internet alone. There has to be some actual dating that follows/coincides. *shrug*

I believe in it to a point. I met my fiance on myspace and we weren't even looking for people to date, but it worked out. I think if you never meet each other, then it doesn't make much sense and is a waste of time, but relationships can start over the internet and end up going on in real life afterwards. ^^ Plus, those internet dating sites usually help weed out the good candidates from the bad ones, so if you go on a date with someone from an internet dating service, you're more likely (not always, but usually) to have more in common with that person than a random person you just met. You know that the two of you will at least have a starting point with each other and you'll be able to go from there  But it's definitely not for everyone. :XD:

It all depends, sometimes people are total fakes on the internet so it is a lie. At the same time, Some times people have an easier time being who they really are and showing their true colors to one person one-on-one without the worry of being judged, physically, sexually, or within peer pressure.

And after expiring:

"Internet-dating"
"Internet-Relationship" (not the same)
And a "met on the internet then hooked up in real life" I can say it's not always all bad

Specially since I wasn't looking for an internet relationship haha, I'd much rather be RL but some times you can't help it. I think I really met my soul mate on the internet, but we're not gunna be together, and I think we both know that.

Who has the right to say where love comes from? I Love someone I met on the internet and I always will. And if anyone says other wise, call me childish, they just don't understand.

I guess I'm not really one to talk, since I met my boyfriend over the Internet... xD BUT I met up with him in real life before we decided "for real" if we actually felt those things for each other.
I believe that you can't know you love someone until you've physically met them; it's way too easy to pretend that you are something you're not on the Internet.
