Teenage Pregnancy.. I had mixed feelings.
Mostly KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS has to be a best choice, in my opinion.
Having a baby as a teen can alter many things. School, work, college, career, social life (sometimes)

But I could be wrong because hells knows what my health teacher smokes.

Oh aha! I just read the other comments and realised I almost said what Bobby-Fingers said, but I guess that shows how important it is.

And by reading the other posts, I agree with most of you. I remember when I was little, me and my friends used to play 'house', and we'd be 16 year old mothers. We never thought about financal problems, and other problems. I heard a conversation recently, and someone asked why they do it, and the answer basically said

"They're still playing house. They think that they can do all these crazy things and not have to deal with what comes after. Like they can hit pause and go back to reality"

What do you guys think?

My best friend got pregnant this year, and she's only 15, a year older than me. I think...well..I'm not against it, but I'm not all for it either. It's kinda hard to explain, but I think 15 is TOO young. Maybe 17 is okay, but until we're more stable, emotionally and financally, it's not really a good idea. It doesn't help if you don't have support either.

I live in a small town full of hicks and idiots and rebels, so we have a HUGE problem with this. There are two pregnant girls in my grade, one preggers Senior in my choir class, and one in the SEVENTH GRADE. Dear fucking God. Take control over your raging horomones. It's YOUR body! You don't have to listen to its every urge!

I talked to this one girl at school who said she had sex in high school, sophomore year. Even though she didn't get pregnant or anything, she said it was the worst mistake of her life. She said that high school relationships don't last long. They're short little flings, and she gave herself up to someone who meant nothing to her, plus, she did so when she felt her body wasn't capable of getting full enjoyment out of it. I'm staying a virgin until I'm out of college.

Teen pregnancy is one thing, but you're not gonna stop it by trying to stop teens from having sex. It's natural for them to want to do it, since that's what's built into them through evolution.

Life cycles are artificially prolonged now, but before medical care as we have now, people may have not lived past 40-50. Thus it makes sense to have kids from 15 or so - that's why it's biologically possible. At this point the body is mature enough, all the parts work, and the hormones rage to tell the person in question that it's time to have sex to reproduce before they die.

You can try to suppress that, but you'll never succeed - biology will always win. Always.

Of course, if you're going to have sex as a teen (which I can't see anything wrong with), at least do it responsibly. Use protection or birth control unless you actually want a kid, and there shouldn't be a problem.

This is kind of a touchy issue. It's really up to the teen in question. I'm not going to say don't have sex because that's just stupid to resist your baser instincts. But really, if it were up to me, I'd make everyone who wanted to have a child go through a background check to make sure that they are both financially AND emotionally capable of raising a child and that goes for people who wish to have unprotected sex. Until then, use a condom, pill, diaphragm, etc. There are so many teens out there who have unprotected sex and don't even think about the consequences and then soon find out they're pregnant when they don't even know how to take care of THEMSELVES yet! There's nothing wrong with having a baby at all, but all I'm going to say is be sure of the consequences, way the pros and cons and plan ahead for when it does happen.

It's kind of a tough thing though for me. My grandma Jan (mothers mom) got pregnant at 17 and had 3 kids by 21, but things seemed to be fine for her. My mother on the other hand... first one she had when she was 16: aborted. Second one she had at 22 (me): attempted abortion and given up to my grandparents (fathers parents), Third one she had: aborted, fourth one she had: kept.

see thats the thing. nothing aainst your mom, i mean pro choice. but kids get preggers and think abortion or adoption right away. and what happens to the kid? or the dude always runs. or the mom doesnt learn her lesson. its a thing that 13-17 year old shouldnt have anything to do with

My point exactly. Teens need to be out enjoying themselves and not worrying about having kids. That's why I came to the conclusion that I will never ever have a kid, and just to make sure I might get a vasectomy done once I get some health insurance and go back to school. ...but at the rate I'm going, I won't need it. XD
