Okay on a disscussion board on another site. Someone asked "Simba VS Kovu. who is better/do you like more?" which do you agree with???
56 deviants saidSimba is a more deserving universal character, and its a shame that he became soo. "un simba like" in the second film.
33 deviants saidSimba is all in all just a better character, with a better story. and Kovu was just made for the younger "i don't care im a rebel blah blah blah" audience from the 90s.
30 deviants saidSimba is a more complex character who goes through more growth and obsticles in his story.
29 deviants saidKovu is hot
21 deviants saidKovu is a more complex character and goes through more growth in his story.
18 deviants saidKovu is nothing but a "rebel without a cause" very slapped together character that has no real meaning except to stand there and look like a "Scarified" Simba. with a "super cool" hair do.
10 deviants saidfuck kovu. hes stupid. he betrayed his whole life/beliefs and family over the course of a few days because he sees a hot girl, that kind of "death" training just doesnt go away like "that". plus his bro was killed right infront of him (accident ofcourse b
yeah, its true, I like that he changed for love! I mean, it *is* a kids film, kids don't need to know that brainwashing takes years to get rid of They just need to know that love conquers all!
He was sweet as a cub, and when he grew up and saw that in the pridelands they actually have *fun* and *care* about each other, he decided he didn't like what his mother taught him afterall. I think the "for LOVE!" part was almost secondary to the fact that he realized the person he was trying to kill was really NICE compared to his crazy bitchy mom
In my opinion, characters in Simba's pride were developed lazily. I mean, If they've been done with a bit more of effort they'd have been great. The movie would have been great. All the characters in that movie have different un-coherent personalities. When I saw it (I was 6) I was like 'huh? is that simba? really??'
