Compare and Contrast

The same lioness, back to back, drawn in TLK style, and my own style. Just to show how different my style is to the tlk one I guess.

One thing I have become quite known for is the Disney/TLK style of art. Which is all fun, well, and good. I enjoy the style, it's appealing, but it's not MY style xD
And people comment me on that "I love your style!!" lol,. Which I find funny because it's not really my style, I can just imitate/pull it off, because I wanted to draw good fanart, also because I just love Disney...

Also when I see The Lion King, or a movie still from tlk, I don't see "Another children's movie"... no, I see a moving piece of art, full of emotion, creativity, passion, beautiful BEAUTIFUL animation, and so on. It's more than just being sentimental over something I loved as a little girl, it's appreciating and observing a masterpiece. It is ART
Which is why I love animation SOO much, it's not just about silly children's cartoons xD It's about art.

And challenging one's self to replicate the style (a good exercise for anyone who wants to be an animator, because for an animated film you must learn to draw in someone else's style, so the movie looks right. imagine if cartoony pumbaa did a scene with a realistic timon? interesting, but off.)

And then you have my style, which is a "cartoony-realistic-ish" type deal. Varying sometimes through pictures, all depending on my mood and how "lost" I get in the image whilst drawing it out. (i get lost in detail, and anatomy, as well as subtle emotions.... you can say soo much with soo little.)

Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever fully shake the TLK artist typcasting. That kinda sucks, but whatever I love TLK so yeah xD

Well also aside of my own style, I've also got a cartoony style. And if you draw a lion with eyebrows and not make it realistic, it must be a Disney drawing right?
Because anything cartoony and is a lion is "OMG EEETS SEEEMBBAAAAHHH!!!!!"
